Easy laundry soap recipe

Tried an easy laundry soap recipe out. These soaps can be found in laundry soap section of grocery store. I found these at my local Pflugerville TX. Super Walmart. Fels Naptha was I think .97 cents. Under 1.00 for sure. I do not recommend using Borax if your white water drains out into your land /yard. I have read that it ruins the dirt that would be accumulative damage over time.

1 Cup of Borax
1 Cup Washing Soda/Soda Ash
1 bar of soap like: Ivory (scented O.K.), Zote, Fels Naptha, or Castile of choice.

If avoiding Xenoestrogens use a non scented castile soap. I am now using kirk's castile fragrance free bar soap from http://www.drugstore.come

Mix Borax and Washing Soda in large bowl. Grate soap as small as possible into bowl and mix all with hands. I found my hands and fingers blended the soap into smaller pieces better than the spoon. Pour into a recycled plastic container of choice with lid. Use 1-2 T. per load. Update: I have learned that 2 T. works best for extra dirty items.

I washed a load of towels so far. They came out fresh smelling, clean and soft.
If you do not want to use Borax, just not use it in the recipe or replace the same amount with Baking Soda. You can try that with the Washing soda to, replace it with same amount of Baking soda. I am sure you will still get clean clothes. I have read recipes online that use only soap and Baking Soda, but for liquid laundry detergent.
